Prince of San Antonio

"San Antonio has always been my city. I may have been away for a few years, but it has always remained part of me. I came here when it was nothing, just a mission. And I have seen it grow. I have nurtured it. And despite attempts from others to take it from me, it remains mine to this day. So know this, neonate. When you walk the streets you are walking MY streets. When you feed from the kine, you are drinking from MY kine. If you step out of line, or risk the Masquerade in any way, I will not hesitate to act. Now be on your way, I have far more important business to attend to."

Known History

Karina has been Prince of San Antonio more or less since its founding in 1718. The original Prince, such as he was, was her sire James Williams. However, Karina had secretly never forgiven Williams for preventing her Embracing her mortal lover Jose back in Spain. She took her vengeance by murdering and diablerising her sire - a dark secret which remained hidden for the best part of three centuries. Under her rule, Karina saw San Antonio grow from a small mission into one of the largest cities in the modern United States. It became a prominent seat of power for her Covenant, the Invictus. She is also lauded by many Daeva as one of their most successful Kindred.

Her longtime rival, Fernando de la Cruz, eventually took the Princedom from her in 2006 after an attack on the city by the mysterious VII revealed her dark past. She was exiled from the city and for three years travelled the world looking for a way to restore her beloved Childe Kelle from Final Death at the hands of VII. She returned when San Antonio was under threat from the enigmatic Mark Belial, who sought to take it for his own. Along with a coterie of younger Kindred she ended Belial's incursion, and in the aftermath regained control of San Antonio from De la Cruz. In the three years since then, she has been attempting to rebuild the influence she once had, and repair the damage done to the mortal systems by the shifting balance of power.

Karina Galen is a gorgeous looking woman of Spanish descent. She is just under average height and her dark black locks seem to cascade around her shoulders. Her deep jade eyes nearly always appear cold. She smiles only when in company of people she trusts, and can be very harsh on newcomers to the city if she feels like it. Her favourite attire is a beret-esque hat and long below-knee-length coats; black of course. She favours black knee-high boots and long gloves. Bright, striking lipstick is another trademark feature of hers. Her skin is not as pale as most Kindred, without her making the effort.

A neonate's opinion

"Oh yes, the Prince. Or Lady Galen as she likes to be called. I don't know - things were'nt great under that priest dude, kinda disjointed if you know what I mean? Like he never had a grip on things. Galen seems like she knows what she's doing, but she's not very personable. I guess you don't need to be as a Prince. That's what you have a Herald for. But if you ask me she's very into the elitist attitude, even more so since she came back. If you ask me, she was shaken by losing the Princedom and is trying to keep an even tighter grip on it this time around. She's not the same as before. Dunno how to say it. She's just...different somehow."
